Founder, MP Reconstructive Surgery

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Maxim Pekarev, or “Dr. Max” as he is known to patients, is the founder behind MP Reconstructive surgery. He is a specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery and started his private practice in 2013 after finishing up his plastic surgery fellowship.

Dr. Max’s family emigrated from the former Soviet Union to the United States at the age of 14. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University. While at Princeton University, he was a 4-time All-American athlete and won the NCAA Saber Fencing Championship in 1996. He then went on to earn his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he also finished a general surgery residency. Finally, he trained for an additional three years at a highly prestigious plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is doubly board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery. His goal of expanding this practice has come to fruition as we are adding more surgeons to our team in order to be able to serve all communities.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Eileen, and two children, Madeline and Evelyn. He also loves a competitive tennis match.
