While General Surgery was engaging and rewarding, Dr. Rivet’s creativity, meticulous attention to detail and desire to resolve some of the most difficult reconstructive and aesthetic challenges led him to pursue an additional three years of training in the highly competitive field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He went the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, where he was trained by a prestigious private plastic surgical practice which has been a pillar of the community for 70 years.
This unique training environment gave him a well-rounded exposure to the spectrum of head and neck, breast, trunk and extremity reconstruction as well as cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body. Additionally, he remained in Chattanooga after graduation to complete a brief fellowship in Reconstructive Trauma Surgery. During these three plus years, Dr. Rivet has executed over 2000 plastic surgical procedures and is well equipped to provide competent and compassionate care for his North Texas patients.
His professional interests include aesthetic surgery of the breast and body, with a focus on the challenging massive weight loss patient. Additionally, he enjoys reconstructive surgery of the face after skin cancer removal or facial trauma, breast and abdominal wall reconstruction, closure of lower extremity wounds and a wide variety of hand surgery procedures.
He resides in Argyle, TX with his wife, two children and golden retriever where he enjoys exercising, longboarding with his children, fishing, grilling and the occasional crawfish boil.
